Mr. Rogers taught us to "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."
The helpers doing the work on the ground in Minnesota are nothing short of heroes. Yet they are also ordinary people with their own lives and needs, which they are putting on the line every day (literally).
The physical, emotional, mental and spiritual toll on our helpers cannot be understated. The moral injury and secondary trauma they are enduring are immense. Many of them work as helpers all day long and then go home from work to help all evening and long into the night.
Help us say thank you to our helpers - help us provide them with a moment of respite, of nourishment, of tangible care.
Funds raised here will go toward:
- Staff lunches at the Minneapolis Public Schools hardest hit
- $100 gift cards for individual helpers*, to go toward rest or play: dinner out, body work, a local retreat center, or a fun activity
*Individual helpers including teachers, social workers, school admins and support staff, healthcare workers, community organizers, clergy, and other frontline helpers
Thank you for helping us care for our caregivers!
