Care for KGH: Providing Meals for Hospital Staff
Healthcare workers and staff at Kelowna General Hospital have been working tirelessly since the start of the pandemic and many are feeling exhaustion and burnout as we head into a fourth wave of COVID-19. For many at the hospital, yesterday’s protest in front of KGH was heartbreaking, only adding to the stress and frustration they were already feeling.
Healthcare workers have been working tirelessly in an incredibly stressful environment over the course of the pandemic and they deserve nothing but our utmost respect and appreciation. Remember when we we're banging pots and pans every day at 7:00 to show our support? What happened?
In response, we're leading an initiative we're calling Care for KGH to show our support and appreciation for the incredible work the staff are doing by providing them with free meals. We're hoping to raise at least $5,000 to provide meals for hospital staff through the Perking Lot coffee shop in the hospital’s lobby.
