My 15-year-old daughter has always had a heart for helping others, especially those experiencing homelessness in our community. Whenever we’re out, she looks for opportunities to hand out meals or whatever she can to people in need. Recently, we were able to put together and distribute 25 care bags with items we purchased ourselves. Seeing her dedication to helping others and spreading love and God’s word has truly inspired me.
With winter bringing more snow and cold weather, she’s determined to do even more. She wants to provide care bags filled with emergency thermal blankets, hats, gloves, hand warmers, non-perishable foods, and water to help people stay warm and nourished. Our goal is to hand out as many bags as we can, especially as the weather gets harsher. Every bag we give out is a reminder to someone that they are seen, cared for, and not alone.
I am so proud of my daughter’s compassion and humility, but we simply don’t have the funds to keep this going on our own. That’s why we’re reaching out for help.
