After attending an AA meeting in Nashua, New Hampshire, I witnessed a moment that deeply moved me. A woman who was clearly homeless came in quietly, hoping for a cup of coffee and a couple of cookies. Despite her respectful presence and her knowledge of the closing prayer, she was subtly excluded from receiving even the smallest comfort. This experience reminded me that everyone deserves kindness and dignity, regardless of their circumstances. It inspired me to take action and create care bags for people experiencing homelessness in Nashua. With the help of a friend, I am putting together bags filled with travel-size hygiene products like toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, hand sanitizer, and deodorant. Each bag will also include snacks such as protein bars, and a bottle of water—simple items that can make a big difference for someone in need. We plan to distribute these bags around the area of the Church of the Good Shepherd, reaching out directly to those who could use a little extra support. This is a one-time effort while I am in Nashua, as homelessness is not a significant issue where I live. I hope to hand out the bags on a weekend day once we have gathered enough supplies. Your support will help us bring comfort and dignity to people who are often overlooked, showing them that they are seen and valued.
