Hi, my name is Eli and I’m fundraising to cover some of the costs of making care bags for people living on the streets in Coventry.

Growing up in Manchester I witnessed homelessness every time I went into town, now that I’m an adult it seems like there are more people struggling each day with no options and it’s extremely upsetting to see the people around me treat these people with disrespect and disregard as if they’re not closer to becoming homeless than becoming a millionaire- it’s ignorant and selfish. I would like to try to change people’s minds and remind them that these people are people who just got unlucky and have had bad experiences in life. Going out into the community and helping people is what I encourage everyone to do, I would like to do my part in giving back to my community by creating care packages to hand out to people who may need/ want them.

Each care bag would consist of toiletries such as a comb, cotton pads, sanitary pads, hair ties, body spray and a toothbrush & toothpaste.

Each care bag will also have two bottles of water, a protein shake, trail mix, biscuits, crisps, mints and a sheet of paper of local resources.

If this well, I’d also like to save and eventually be able to hand out: Condoms, first aid, pet food, clothing items, suncream, and more!

I would also like to put some of the money towards a bag trolley so it’s easier to hand out these care bags in town, however it’s not a necessity right now.
