On Sunday, February 1st, the Laih family was in church like they are every Sunday morning. During the announcements, one of Earl and Danielle Laih’s children received a call that their home was on fire. Not long after that initial call, we learned the devastating news that their home was a total loss.

By God’s grace, no one was home at the time, and all of their dogs made it out safely. That alone is a huge praise. However, the family is now navigating the insurance process while facing the immediate reality of displacement. They are working to replace basic necessities such as clothing and everyday essentials, all while living without the normal abilities many of us take for granted, like washing clothes easily, cooking meals, and settling into the comfort of home.

If you know Earl and Danielle, you know they have given their lives to serving others. Both have served in the military. Earl has spent his career caring for patients as a nurse, and together they have opened their hearts and home by adopting seven children. They are a family who consistently shows up for others, often quietly and without recognition.
