My name is Brodie, and many already know this story....for those of you that dont, here goes. Chris Dye is my brother, and wife Ruth, has been through a long painful journey of stage 4 colon cancer. She was first diagnosed October 1st, 2023. Ruth's faith and love for the Lord in this journey has been inspiring. Ruth is so strong and her determined will to push through all the tests and treatments, her fight for life.......is coming to an end. The treatments has stopped working, Ruth conditions and quality of life are slowly fading. Chris is going on leave from his work under FMLA, if you are unfamiliar with this, it is a protected leave that ensures Chris keeps his job but is an unpaid leave. This leave is necessary, as Ruth's conditions worsen, she needs constant care and supervision. The tumors have spread to other areas in her body, including her lungs. Ruth is slowly losing her ability to walk, and requires an oxygen breathing machine to help her breath. Ruth and Chris have 5 children - Landon, Kimberly, Connor, Claire and Damien. Right now the Dye Family is overwhelmed with the thoughts of "end of life care". So many people following their journey have already helped support the Dye Family in the beginning of this journey, and now they are are in need again. Chris takes his leave from work, to not only care for Ruth and their children, but to help create memories for his children and also for himself. These will be the memories that help them through the coming grief, that is hovering in the background.
