CardioStart’s intent is to teach the local doctors and nurses advanced cardiac care, elevating surgical outcomes and overall patient care long after CardioStart volunteers depart the country.

In October, I will embark on a vital cardiac surgery mission to Tanzania, concentrating on complex aortic surgery. Tanzania, is a beautiful country with a population exceeding 60 million. However its people face significant challenges in accessing cardiac surgery. Limited resources and access to specialized medical care make cardiac surgery an unattainable luxury for many Tanzanians. The mission seeks to change that narrative.
