My name is Nicola Spurling and I’m raising funds to continue my volunteer work of capturing and sharing moments of queer joy.

I bought my camera in 2019 and, since then, I’ve been volunteering my time taking pictures of queer events and queer sports. I love to tell stories through my art. I love finding candid moments of celebration, action and laughter. I love documenting history in the making.

You may have seen me at protests, parades, festivals, queer gatherings, and queer sports. I spend hundreds of hours a year taking pictures, editing them, and making them available to view, all for free. This is something I want to continue to do, with your help.

Sadly, camera equipment is expensive, and mine is starting to malfunction. I need to buy replacement equipment but, between losing my job last year and trying to start a business to support myself, this isn’t a purchase I can afford to make right now.

My hope is that you’ll see the value in what I’m trying to do and you’ll help support me in continuing to preserve the best of our collective queer memories.

The money you help me raise will be spent solely on camera gear. Specifically, I want to buy a camera body and a telephoto lens.
