Capital City Crisis - Against Edinburgh Clowncil

Donation protected
Something is rotten in the City of Edinburgh.

Innumerable acts of civic vandalism, a proliferation of Student housing, over-tourism, desecration of our World Heritage status, filthy streets, broken pavements, cuts to social care, neglected schemes, shady property developments, iconic listed buildings sold off, commercial eyesores erected, potholes, roadworks, road closures, punitive parking regulations and a permanent state of travel tyranny.

Edinburgh’s current political class (many of whom are neither from, nor have any links to the city) are responsible for acts of irreparable damage to the social fabric of Scotland’s capital, enacting policies that operate directly against the interests of locals.

Simply travelling across the city to visit relatives, attend appointments, or to conduct business, has become increasingly problematic, and it’s only going to get worse - a lot worse;
With the support of environmental stakeholders, the Green Party and cycle lobbyists, the council’s convenor for transport: Scott Arthur, a civil engineer from Kirkcaldy, has undertaken a ‘war against motorists’, believing that we should all be walking and cycling as he pursues his controversial ’20-minute neighbourhood’ agenda.

Ironically, despite Scott Arthur's assault on vehicles he is also proposing to destroy the Roseburn Cycle path - a haven for wildlife, walkers and cyclists - to make way for a tramline. This is abject lunacy.

We cannot allow this to continue. It is time to make a stand.

My name is Bonnie Prince Bob, I am an artist, filmmaker and political activist. I am a lifelong Edinburgh resident and I am devastated to witness the damage inflicted upon the city by a cabal of self-serving political careerists.

Raising awareness:

There are many reasons why locals are unaware of policy changes until it is too late. Council ‘consultations’ are a mere box ticking formality and results are engineered in favour developers and policy makers.

The Edinburgh Evening News now serves entirely as a mouthpiece for politicians and private interests - having long lost any credibility as a conduit for local opinion.

Voter apathy has allowed a corrupt monopoly of party politicians to dominate our local authority.

Help me to raise awareness to these negative policies and shame those responsible with a campaign of digital advertisements and some creative acts of public provocation...

It is time these arrogant bureaucrats heard how locals really feel.

If your life is affected by road closures and potholes, if you resent seeing millions of public money spent on unnecessary infrastructure projects and tourist areas while your local neighbourhood remains neglected, and if you too share my anger at how this city is being mismanaged, then please donate to the campaign and leave a message letting us know how you feel.
We want to know about YOUR issues with The city of Edinburgh Council.

Many thanks BPB

The initial target is to run a mobile digital advertising campaign for one week. We shall tailor the campaign on the basis of funds received.
