Hello All,
As some of you may be aware, each school-day morning I work online, voluntarily teaching children in a township area of Cape Town, South Africa - Sir Lowry’s Pass. I bring much-needed professional education skills to a charity, Journey’s End Foundation, https://journeysend.co.za/our-foundation/that is doing all it can to help improve the lives of those in this community.
The first half of my morning is spent with pre-school children aged 4 -6 who are striving to gain entry to the state schooling system & the second half of my morning is spent helping a range of students from Years 3 to 12, who for various reasons have fallen out of the schooling system, to complete their studies.
My goal is to help these children enter/re-enter the state schooling system and so secure a chance at a better future through an education which in the Western world we take for granted.
In March I’m self-funding my airfare to go to Cape Town & work directly with the students and the teaching staff, so as to establish a closer bond between us & to set the year goals that will form their pathway to self-improvement.
So, I am asking for GoFundMe donations which will be channelled, not to my air fare but directly towards (a) a daily breakfast programme providing nutrient enriched porridge to the students to better help them learn and (b) the purchase of books, stationary and in-class learning materials that the support staff and students continuously need an ongoing supply of.
Any small amount of money will be greatly appreciated and will help go a long way in making our world a better place by making a difference to the lives children in this highly disadvantaged community. Thank you for your support.
PS. When you donate, your funds will be divided evenly between the options above unless you choose to specify one area over the other. So do please state which area you prefer to support if you wish to, so I can direct the money correctly. Thank you, Camille
