Hello. We are Precision Property Measurements, a Long Beach based company that has been serving the architecture industry for almost 20 years. We have been looking for new ways to help people struggling in our community and have found a great opportunity with an event called CANstruction (https://www.canstructionlongbeach.org/)
The way CANstruction works is that teams compete to design and build a structure made entirely out of full cans of food. After the structures are built, the CANsculptures go on display to the public as an art exhibition, and then at the end of the event, all of the food is donated to local hunger relief organizations. Since its founding in 2014, CANstruction Long Beach has donated over 100,000 lbs of food to people struggling with food insecurity. This year's theme for the sculptures is "Mythical Creatures". The photo above is our 3D design of an "Underwater Hydra" that we plan to build!
We thought this would be a great opportunity to help our community while bringing our team together (after a year of remote work!) to bond around a fun project. PPM has an incredible team of "Bustas" that have generously volunteered their time to help design and build a giant sculpture made out of cans. We are working with local grocery stores to secure the volume and type of cans that we will need, and are asking for financial support to help purchase the cans as well as provide an additional cash donation to support the good work that this organization does for Long Beach and the surrounding communities.
Our structure calls for several thousand cans of food, and we are well underway with the procurement efforts! Thank you for your support!
