Hi everyone, my name is Krishelle and I’m trying to raise funds for the beautiful Dau family who has lost everything.

In the early hours of the morning, tragedy struck this beautiful local family when their home was completely destroyed by a devastating house fire.

The South Sudanese family of six is made up of a hardworking single mother and her five children, ranging in ages from 7 years to 21 years old. Mum works tirelessly at the hospital, dedicating her life to caring for others while providing for her family.

On the night of the fire, Mum was working a night shift when her eldest daughter, Sarah (21), was awakened by a loud bang. She quickly realised the family home was on fire. Showing incredible courage and composure, Sarah immediately got all of her younger siblings safely out of the house, alerted the neighbours, and called emergency services for assistance.

A brave neighbour attempted to extinguish the blaze, but sadly the fire had taken hold and nothing could be done to save the property.

In a matter of hours, this family lost their home, belongings, clothing, treasured memories, and the place they felt safest.

Despite the heartbreak, we are so grateful that everyone escaped safely thanks to Sarah's quick actions and the support of neighbours and emergency services.

We are raising funds to help the Dau family begin rebuilding their lives, including finding a new home. Donations will assist with immediate essentials such as clothing, food, temporary accommodation, school supplies, and the many unexpected costs that come with starting over after such a devastating loss.
