For those of you that don't know, I was diagnosed with Breast cancer in January 2020. The past year and a half has been filled with doctor appointments, infusions and learning about a disease that I never thought would hit so close to home, especially not at just 31 years old. Last year on June 2nd I completed a 5k on my last day of chemotherapy. We walked as team Hakuna-Ma-Tatas and raised money for Susan G. Koman. This year as I near the end of immunotherapy I'm planning another 5k. June 8th I will walk to celebrate my last day of active treatment. When we buy our house we are going to turn the commercial space into an office and meeting space to be able to support other people with breast cancer. I hope to raise enough money to start building care packages, sharing resources and eventually (post covid) hold classes in my new space. We will walk as team Hakuna-Ma-Tatas again. This year all the money we raise will go to support events and programming in my new space and anything above my goal will go to SurvivingBreastCancer.org (SBC), The Ellie Fund, and The Dear Jack Foundation these organization helped me through most of my treatment. I recently began a collaboration with Laura the founder of the SBC and I also have been volunteering by delivering meals for Ellie Fund.
