Help End Energy Poverty in Ancallachi, Peru
Help Bring Electricity and Internet to Ancallachi, Peru
Goal: $60,000 CAD
I first learned about Light Up the World through my brother Duncan Embry’s inspiring work with them in Peru. Years later, when we began making our documentary on energy poverty, I knew they were the perfect organization to highlight.
Now, we’re raising $60,000 to bring electricity and internet access to the remote village of Ancallachi, Peru, a community that inspired us deeply during the filming of our documentary "Help Is On The Way".
Ancallachi sits high in the Andes, hours from the nearest hospital or paved road. There is no stable electricity. No internet. No phone signal. Families cook in the dark. Children study by candlelight, if they can study at all. When emergencies happen, help is hours away by foot.
While filming, we met Hermenegilda Landa, a mother whose baby needed medical care. Without us, her only option was a five-hour walk to the nearest hospital, carrying her child the entire way. We helped her that day. But this is daily life for many families in Ancallachi.
That moment changed us—and now, we’re taking action.
We're supporting Light Up The World (www.lutw.org), a Canadian non-profit that specializes in bringing solar-powered energy and internet to off-grid communities. Every dollar raised will go directly to fund the design, equipment, and installation needed to electrify Ancallachi.
This project will:
* Provide safe, reliable lighting in homes, schools, and community spaces
* Connect the village to the outside world with internet access
* Improve health, education, safety, and economic opportunity for all
* Create lasting, sustainable change powered by solar energy
Our team at Muster Point Productions has already committed $10,000 to launch this campaign. Now we need your help to reach the full goal of $60,000.
This is not a dream. This is real.
This is how we stop imagining solutions—and start delivering them.
Donate now and be part of lighting up Ancallachi.
