Scouting has always been about adventure, challenge, personal development, and helping young people discover what they are capable of achieving. As Scout leaders, we are fortunate to play a part in that journey every week, supporting young people as they learn new skills, build confidence, and take on challenges they never thought possible.

In 2028, we have been given the opportunity to take part in one of Scouting’s most prestigious international expeditions – the Explorer Belt in Canada.

The Explorer Belt is much more than an overseas trip. It is a challenging international expedition that requires participants to demonstrate independence, resilience, teamwork, cultural understanding, and expedition skills. It is an experience designed to push participants beyond their comfort zones while representing the values of Scouting on an international stage.

To take part, we each need to raise approximately £2,500, giving us a fundraising target of £5,000. These funds will help cover expedition costs, travel, training, equipment, and preparation for the challenge ahead.

Over the next two years, we will be organising a variety of fundraising activities within our local community, including outdoor challenges, Scouting events, community activities, and sponsorship opportunities. We are committed to working hard to earn our place on this expedition and to involving as many people as possible in the journey.

We are incredibly grateful for any support you can offer. Every donation, no matter how large or small, helps us move closer to our goal and enables us to represent our Scout Group, our community, and Scouting on an international expedition.
