The Campus Kitchens Project is the leading national organization for “student-powered” hunger relief. The goals are twofold: first, reduce food insecurity by providing nutritious meals, and second, reduce food waste by creating those meals from donated food that would otherwise end up in landfills. In this sense, it is both an environmental and humanitarian organization. Our particular chapter, located in one of the poorest counties in New York state, on a campus of relatively privileged students, seeks to use the all of resources available to us to educate our peers about food insecurity while actively addressing rural hunger. We believe access to healthful food is a human right.
As food prices continue to rise and cold weather quickly approaches, our number of weekly guests is steadily increasing to 85 a week. We are so proud we have a team dedicated to serving everyone who needs a meal; your donation will help support our efforts to safely and efficiently make high-quality, hardy meals every week. Funds will go toward food and kitchen equipment. Thank you for your support!
