Hello, my name is Kitty and I’m 15 years old. I’m going on a trip to Peru with Camps International in July 2024 with a group of 11 girls from my school. I am the youngest going and the only one in Year 10. This is a huge deal for me as I am autistic and find new things and routines quite stressful. I have only been away from home before for 1 week before, so 4 weeks with no contact with home is a big challenge.

My mum and grandparents have kindly contributed to the fundraising for the trip but I still have lots of money to raise for

the trip and equipment.

I have also myself contributed £300 into the trip so far by saving up from babysitting, dog sitting, paper round, and birthday and Christmas money. I still plan to put in another £350 as well.

The trip consists of immersing myself in Peruvian culture, community project work to improve infrastructure and provide safe and productive learning environments for local children. In addition to the projects in the school, we are building a toilet for each house in the community to improve sanitation. We will embark on an adventurous trekking journey to the iconic Inca city of Machu Picchu.
