Thomas's Experdition to Kenya 2026 (Camps International)
Donation protected
My name is Thomas and I'm 15 years old. I am fundraising so that I can take part in a life changing 4 week expedition to Kenya, with my school, in the summer of 2026.
To enable me to be part of this exciting experience I need to raise a total of £5000 for my place on the team.
This trip is also a personal challenge for me and will help me on a personal level, as I will gain valuable life experience and develop my confidence further in the different situations I will be in. I will also learn from the trip and gain a deeper understanding and knowledge of different environments and cultures while working hard. I love photography and hope to take photographs of the trip when I can.
I am also fundraising by doing lots of car boot sales, sponsored walk or cycle, odd jobs, and using the money I have earned from my delivery round.
During the 4 week trip I will :
● Be volunteering and working on a number of environmental, development and conservation projects within several local communities and getting to see and be part of this exciting adventure in Kenya.
● Get involved in work on a range
of projects including
community development in two rural
communities. This could be helping with building work, supporting education, animal care and conservation, building elephant defence barriers, worming goats and planting trees.
● Be part of the community while I work alongside local
people, learning about the challenges the community face as well as learning about the rich tradition and
culture of Kenya.
● Meet and play games with the local children and learn from the community.
● Learn some of the local language of Swahili.
● Get to meet and learn about a local Maasii community.
● I hope to see some of The Big 5 animals on land during a Safari day.
● I will also learn to Scuba Dive and gain my PADI Open Water Dive
qualification and hope to see some aquatic sealife.
I am really looking forward to this once in a lifetime experience.
If you are able to donate I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Thomas.
