Earlier this year I was praying about taking a mission trip this summer, and I had actually started making plans. Then, I got a call...figuratively and literally! If you've known me for any length of time, you know I love 3 things: Jesus, kids, and the outdoors. (Well, and also coffee, but that's a different matter.) When I heard about Camp CedarRidge needing a Business Manager this summer, something inside me just leaped! I have DREAMED of one day running a camp just like this, and so this opportunity to go and experience and serve just felt like God all over.
There's one minor detail. It only pays about $100/week. As I thought about that small obstacle (of, you know, not having a real income all summer,) the idea hit me to go ahead and raise the money as I would for a mission trip. Camp CedarRidge is a Non-Profit, that scholarships many of it's campers. It's a place where kids unplug from screens and plug into nature, friends, and connecting with their Creator. I can tell you first hand, it is a really special place. I actually went there when I was a kid, and it impacted me greatly!
I will be up at camp from mid-June through the first week in August. My goal to offset my missing income during that time period is $3800.
Would you consider helping me make this happen? I would love to share the journey and experiences I'm sure it will bring with you! Even better, come up and visit! I think God has some really special things in store for this summer. <3
