Campaign Zero - Donation Fund

It pains me that as a black man I am still fighting for the world to see me as more than 3/5th's of a man. It angers me that I face the reality of knowing that my father's dream of a different world for me has not happened. I have no reason to believe that this world will be any different for my future son. I have gone through every range of emotion that you can possibly go through after yet another black life lost at the hands of police brutality, and have concluded that it's time to act.

Through this reflection I have decided to finally take things a step further than just posting, marching or debating which solution is better in our fight for justice and equality.  I understand that in any war, battles are forged on many fronts and this is how I am choosing to fight. Please donate and support what you can in this effort to support the 2 causes laid out below. I challenge you to not only support with your wallet but with your intentions as well to combat all instances of prejudice and covert racism. For us as black people let's take initiative to improve the well being of our own community and be change agents in the fight for a better way.

The Cause - Campaign Zero

Campaign Zero is a Community Activist group dedicated to putting an end to Police Brutality.  They have implemented a 10 step comprehensive program of urgent policy solutions - informed by data, research and human rights principles. Creating initiatives to limit the use of force, change legislation and provide community oversight are a few of the plans they have implemented.

Step 1:

I am proposing a call to action for all corporations, allies, friends and supporters to donate to a cause aimed at putting an end to the senseless killing of black and brown bodies. Let's demand that these groups of people truly stand by their claims of diversity and inclusion at a time we need it the most.

Step 2:
Secondly, let's demand more for ourselves in the black and minority community and lead the charge in our own neighborhoods. The minority community has a combined spending power of $3.9 Trillion and its time we mobilize those funds to support our own local mom and pop businesses. I am launching an economic challenge to all black and minority business owners for the month of June. Sign up for the #1COMBproject (1.Community. Of. Minority.Businesses) at the link below and pledge to donate 100% of profits from 1 product or service for the month of June. You can choose to donate to the campaign zero fund or any other fund aimed at bettering black lives. We will promote these business to a broader community and ensure that consumers know who stood by them during a critical moment of need.
