Concern Cymru is in URGENT need of your help to continue providing free counselling in Wales.
Concern Cymru is a charity which offers counselling to anyone who may needs our service. Services are delivered by the charity’s team of 30+ volunteer counsellors and psychotherapists, each of whom is professionally qualified. People may refer themselves to us via our website, via their health professional or after being recommended from someone who has been one of our clients.
Due to the pandemic we are currently able to offer telephone, video and online counselling only. We hope to be able to resume face to face counselling with clients in January 2021 from our main centre in Cardiff and several satellite venues around South Wales, if the government regulations and guidance allow this.
Although our service is provided free of charge to clients, running it does incur significant costs such as rent, utilities, ongoing training for counsellors, and administrative support.
Currently, Concern Cymru is in desperate need of support from people in the community, as the effects of COVID-19 has left us without our usual support from clients donations and sponsoring organisations. Without this vital support we will not be able to continue providing counselling and may have to come to the devastating decision to close our service, which has been running for 30 years. The pandemic is bringing fear and anxiety to so many whose lives have been changed by it, so we want to be around to assist people who are in psychological need, for many years to come.’
Every single donation, no matter how small will put us one step closer to ensuring that we meet our monthly and yearly costs and can continue to support our community.
