Campaign for representing border children
Donation protected
Friends and allies,
There are currently thousands of immigrant children appearing in court for deportation hearings without any adult to help them.
We are a group traveling to Tijuana to provide legal help and medical assistance to children and families stranded outside the border hoping to have their asylum claims heard. They are currently staying in tent cities, in poor health, being victimized by organized crime, and often trafficked--while they wait indefinitely. Many have been abused, neglected, and tortured in their home countries.
We need your help.
I have organized a small group of professionals to go down for a week and help out. Some of them are low paid legal assistants who speak fluent Spanish. Others are pro-bono professionals generously giving much of their valuable time to help this cause. These funds will defray the costs of the trip (airfare, lodging, meals, rental cars, etc.) so more people can help.
We are looking into starting a 501 c3 so that this work can continue indefinitely, but for now, this is a one-time thing. Your contributions would be a gift--not tax-deductible to you or taxable to us. If you can help us make this happen now, we may be able to build a great organization that will save many lives soon.
Some of you have expressed interest in fundraising events for the future. Please contact me privately so we can get this going.
Thank you all very much. If you were like me and stared at the TV wanting to know what you could do about the border crisis, but felt helpless, well... here's what we can do. Please help us.
