CAMPS International PERU 2025 - Volunteers

Our names are Alexander Pavlou and Callum Stoker, we are 14 years old and currently at Monkwearmouth Academy in Seaburn, Sunderland. This year we were introduced to an incredible opportunity called Camps International.

Camps International are a social enterprise, driven by a strong sense of purpose, investing in building permanent camps in the heart of many places worldwide we care about. They work in partnership with local communities to drive positive impact for the people who live there, the young people who partake in these camps and our planet.

In 2025 we have been given the opportunity to join one of their camps in Peru, South America for 4 weeks to experience what it is like to live the culture of Peru, working with the locals in the small rural community of Moray.

People living in Moray are extremely poor with no basic sanitation or sewerage. We will get involved with projects such as renovating houses and constructing toilet blocks in each of the houses in the village, providing families and vulnerable elderly residents with proper sanitation facilities.

Each of the projects we will be involved in are aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and designed to make a significant and lasting impact on the region’s most critical issues.

We are really excited to be a part of this amazing experience, a one in a life time opportunity. We will be part of a team of 20 pupils from schools across the UK and as well as having the opportunity to make a difference, we will get to experience an incredible country, meet new people and develop skills for a life time.

This trip will cost a total of £4500 EACH and we are looking for support to raise these funds to allow us to make this trip possible. We are embarking on a number of fundraising activities, this being one of them.
