Dear friends,
I traveled to Chico yesterday and found myself at the SilverDollar Fairgrounds in Chico where American Red Cross is housing hundreds of families left homeless from the fire. I signed in to volunteer. There were CERT members, and Red Cross volunteers from as far away as New York along with folks like me just wanting to help. I met an amazing woman from the Red Cross registration tent who took me under her wing. She said there was a desperate need for socks, underwear, long sleeve shirts, razors and a few other items. With some of the money I had left over from this GoFundMe page , I want to a nearby Target and brought back all these needs to each dorm (womens, mens and family dorms) all of this was possible because of you, thank you.
I then had the privilege to act as navigator for a Red Cross shuttle driver who's job was to drive folks to various places that were too far to walk. We made a trip to the Paradise Post Office with 8 evacuees. This was the first time the driver had been up there, it tugged at his soul and the folks in the van were very emotional as well as well as grateful to have received their mail. These things we talk for granted were a blessing to these people.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,❤️
Kathy and Danielle
