I’m fundraising to buy my nephew Cameron a wheelchair that will enable him to be as independent as possible. On 28th March 2023 Cameron was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder, he lost the feeling and use of his left leg in mid-March and then his right leg a week later. He has gone from an active, drumming and cricket playing 19 year old student to being unable to stand or walk and is now wheelchair dependant. A lightweight, easily propelled wheelchair will allow Cameron to get about by himself and will particularly help him when he returns to his university in Leeds in September. At this time Cameron’s prognosis is uncertain and doctors are unable to say whether or when he will be able to walk again.
