Camden is ten years old and in 4th grade. He was born prematurely at 28 weeks old and weighed 2 pounds 13 ounces. At one-month-old, an MRI showed he had damage to his brain, which resulted in a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy (CP), Cortical Visual Impairment, and Seizure Disorder. CP is a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance, posture, and communication skills. Camden uses a wheelchair due to his limited mobility. He is also non-verbal, but communicates to us through smiles, cries, yells, and silence. 

Camden is the oldest brother to his sister Haven (7 years old) and brother Ronan (5 years old). He loves music, being outdoors, and spending time with his family, and especially his crazy Dad. Camden is silly, smart and has a great sense of humor. He loves adventure and is a thrill seeker; the faster, the louder the crazier, the better!

As his parents, we are slightly biased, but Camden shines a special light wherever he goes. His smile and laughs are contagious. He teaches you to find joy in the little things and appreciate every moment of life. Camden has shown us all that small successes are just as worthy of a big celebration.

As Camden gets heavier and older it’s difficult to keep up with all the modifications to our house allowing him to move without having to be removed too much from his chair.     

It is the hardest thing as parents knowing he is in pain, itchy, scared, sick, or uncomfortable and not having the resources to help him. We just want to give him the best, happiest, and most comfortable life he can have because we know he is incapable of doing it himself.
