On Sunday 9th March I will be running the Cambridge Half Marathon along with my two brothers, Daniel and Christopher, to raise awareness and funds for Clarissa’s Campaign for Cambridge Hearts (in partnership with the charity CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young), in memory of our cousin’s beautiful daughter, Clarissa Nicholls.
Clarissa was a student at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University. She was on her year abroad in Paris and just days before her 21st birthday in May 2023 she took a hike in the Gorges du Verdon with her flatmate where she collapsed and died of an undiagnosed heart condition called arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy. Clarissa was a keen athlete, she was popular, talented & vibrant and had her whole life ahead of her.
Clarissa’s Campaign for Cambridge hearts is something her Uni friends have set up to raise funds to provide Cambridge University students with an ECG heart screening service in the hope of preventing the reoccurrence of a tragedy like Clarissa’s. The more money raised, the more screenings can take place.
We are reaching out to ask for your support in this important cause. Any contribution you can make, no matter how small, will be immensely appreciated and will go directly towards helping save lives.
Thank you for considering supporting us. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of countless students and help ensure that their futures remain bright.
