Calvin’s Adoption Story - Building the Harris Family
The number of children in need of a loving home and high quality care is impossible for one person or family to address on its own, but thanks to people like you who are visiting our page, Calvin’s Positive Impact will be even bigger!
As we went on the adoption journey, we spent tens of thousands of dollars on the process of bringing him home, and 1/3 of the money will be used by our family to offset the expenses we incurred. The help you will provide with your donation will enable us to continue to provide for his future needs with less stress, and more grace. Thank you from our family.
We learned that the orphanage system in Armenia is largely funded by private donations, and our amazing agent in Armenia runs a non-profit in which adoptive families sponsor improvements where their child was from. For example the kitchen that prepared Calvin’s food was renovated by a family from France. During our 25 days visiting the children’s home, we noticed many needs. 1/3 of the money raised will be used to fund an improvement project that will positively impact the children we visited and could not bring home.
Around the world, children with dwarfism are put up for adoption at a stunning rate, and in some countries they exit out of the system at an entirely too young of an age. To provide resources to families looking to adopt children with dwarfism, the Little People of America adoption fun is there, and they helped us with our adoption of Calvin (our grant was modest because Calvin is young, they provide larger grants targeted at older children who are at risk of never being adopted sooner). The final 1/3 of the money will be donated to the adoption fund to help children with dwarfism find the loving home they need and deserve.
