In Memory of Callum & Jake Robinson

Update: Martin has reached out and asked me to thank everyone who has been so kind, supportive and generous. Martin and Debra don't have much bandwidth at the moment to respond to everyone, but they feel the love and are thankful for it.

They have some ideas about how they will best use the money. At this stage, they have a concept that they will establish an educational foundation in memory of their sons in order to make a positive contribution to the world.

My name is Brett Grocock, and on behalf of the Mining and Spatial Industry here in Western Australia, I am looking for a way to support our friend Martin Robinson and his wife Debra after the tragic deaths of his two sons, Callum and Jake, on a recent surfing trip to Mexico. Link

For over 25 years, Martin has been a constant presence in the spatial industry, training surveyors through his work at TAFE and on the Mine Survey Board, where he gets to see his former students progress to professional accreditation.

His nickname of "Millimetre Martin" is a reflection of the exceptionally high standards that he looks to impart to his students. We are better off for having him as a Lecturer who cares about the quality of his graduates. That level of care is evident in the quality of the two fine sons he and Debra raised. Callum represented Australia in Lacrosse after gaining a full scholarship to college in the United States, and Jake, who was just starting out on his medical career after graduating in 2019.

Martin and Debra are currently experiencing every parent's worst nightmare. Please make a meaningful contribution if you can to assist the Robinson family with the costs associated with this tragic time.
