My son-in-law, Cal—who is also my grandson’s loving father—has been in the hospital for 17 days and has been unable to work for a total of 20 days so far. We learned today that he may need another surgery.

Cal has already exhausted all of his sick and vacation leave. As you can imagine, being this unwell is incredibly difficult on its own, but the added burden of mounting bills is making an already challenging situation even harder. The stress from financial strain can negatively affect the healing process, and I want to do everything I can to ease that for him.
