Our hearts are breaking. We are calling on all angels to help Mike and his young, sweet family. As the pace began to pick up speed with school starting, plans being made for the future and possibilities busting at the seams, unexpected tragic news arrived. Mike was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few days ago. While we are still processing this news, Mike has expressed one of his greatest fears, one that terrifies him more that facing certain death at only 48 years old. As the sole income earner to a family of three young children and a wife in nursing school, Mike knows the financial burden they are facing is dire. Ivy is still a year away from graduating which means she is a year away from her first paycheck. As a truck driver, Mike is currently taking every run available to collect as much pay as possible, the downside is that every run pulls him away from spending precious time with his young children. One way we can help is to raise funds toward possible treatment options and future expenses for Mike’s family.

Mike and Ivy built a beautiful, loving life in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, part of Lancaster County, where their community is small and tightknit. The children attend elementary school and participate in local sports, parks and neighborhood activities. The realization has set in that their life in Ephrata may be jeopardized when the lack of income becomes their reality. Without life insurance or any savings in place, Mike is now frantically trying to figure out how to ensure his family remain in their community and keep a roof over their heads. Ivy immigrated to the US from China and has no family here, Mike’s family is spread throughout PA, NJ and NY and are all rallying behind them.
