My Mission to Willmington

Hello friends and family! As some of you may already know, I have applied for and been accepted into a missionary internship at UrbanPromise in Wilmington, Delaware. I am so excited for this journey and wanted to share the details with you (and also ask for your support).

Where Am I Going?

This summer, I’ll be joining UrbanPromise in Wilmington, Delaware—a beautiful ministry that works with urban youth and families through free summer camps, after-school programs, schools, and job training. Their vision is long-term: to raise up young leaders rooted in Christ.

What Am I Doing?

For 7.5 weeks, I’ll live in intentional community with fellow interns and staff. I’ll teach one of three classes—Art, Recreation, or Bible—mentor youth, and help lead special events. I’ll be serving alongside a team of passionate young leaders, including the StreetLeaders, who are local teens working as camp counselors.

This summer’s theme is “Moses”—and I’m so excited to help kids discover how God is powerful, present, and promise-keeping, just like He was for Moses.

Why Am I Going?

Truthfully, I said yes to this internship from a place of deep surrender. This isn’t just a resume-builder. It’s a calling.

I’ve been healing—emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. Through it all, I’ve learned this:

God still chooses the willing, even the wounded.

I know what it’s like to need safe, consistent love. Now, I want to show up for others the way I once needed someone to show up for me—with honesty, presence, and care. Even when I don’t feel qualified, I know my obedience is enough.

To serve this summer, I need to raise $1,500 to cover room, board, and transportation. (Interns are unpaid, but our presence still carries costs.)
