Friends of Scott and Deahna,
We have some exciting news to pass along and we need your help!
A few weeks ago Scott and Deahna were presented with the opportunity to adopt a newborn baby. MariAyumi Alexandria Calgaro was born on October 18, 2020 weighing 8 pounds, 20 inches. She is a beautiful girl with thick black hair, dark eyes, and a curious smile. She instantly captured the hearts of Scott and Deahna and they can’t wait for you to meet her.
Scott and Deahna have spent time with the birth mom and grandma as well as with a slew of other advocates who are all trying to make this adoption process as smooth as possible. As most of you know the Calgaros have desired children for years. But, this adoption was quite unexpected and all unfolded over a few days while visiting family in Alaska.
This unexpected but welcomed surprise has come with a lot of financial costs. They need our financial support.
We are starting this GoFundMe to raise $25,000 and help offset the adoption expenses. The money will go directly towards expenses related to the adoption such as attorney fees, travel expenses, and a brief maternity leave.
The story of how God brought MariAyumi into the Calgaro family is quite extraordinary. As God loves to do, he wrote this story in a way that reveals to us how he sees the particulars of who Scott and Deahna are. It is a story that allows us to bear witness to his profound goodness. From distinct connections to MariAyumi's native tribe to ways her adoption story evokes Scott's own adoption story, Scott and Deahna cannot help but see that she was chosen for them, and they were chosen for her. God parted the waters to bring this baby girl into their lives.
Would you participate in this redemption story?
Thanks for helping Scott and Deahna.
- Chris and Caryn
