This summer, my family and I will be volunteering at the Hogar de Niños Enmanuel orphanage in San Pedro Sula, Honduras in which 80 children call home. Socks are a basic need we take for granted, but a luxury for these children. Without shoes and socks, students in Honduras can’t attend school. This inspired me to raise money for socks that will help these children greatly and have a big impact on their lives.
Throughout my life, I have participated in several charitable organizations that have touched me and helped me grow as a person. However, this is close to my family and me because my mom’s cousin and her family oversee this orphanage. They dedicate their time and efforts to the well being of these children. They live by the motto, “What are you doing for others?”, which has inspired me and my family to think more globally and be passionate about serving others.
Thank you for helping to make a difference in these children’s lives.
