After getting married in 2019, Caitlin and Dustin knew they wanted to start a family right away. With no success during the first year, they were referred to two different clinics to see if there might be any underlying issues.

Looking back, they realized they may not have chosen the best clinic at first, but based on those initial tests, they were directed to begin IUI. In early 2021, they went through three full IUI cycles and one cycle that couldn’t move forward. After that, they were told IVF would be their best option.

As many know, fertility treatments take both a physical and emotional toll, so they decided to pause. Life added its own challenges, too—they bought a house and then learned Dustin needed a hip replacement.

By June of this year, Caitlin and Dustin finally felt ready to revisit their options and reached out to the second clinic they had originally been referred to. They both completed another round of testing.

Unfortunately, the results hadn’t changed, and they were told IUI was never really a viable path. At this point, their options are IVF or using an egg donor, with adoption also on the table.

They have officially been cleared to begin their IVF treatment in October. Now the challenge is to navigate the financial side of this journey.
