#CaawiWalaal is humanitarian awareness raising campaign intended to inform about the effect of droughts calamity to Somali society and stimulate collective response from both Somali and international communities. The campaign has two objectives: bringing forth the information about the deteriorating situation of drought affected families in Somalia and organizing preliminary responses to immediately safe lives
#CaawiWalaal is not an established NGO or affiliation of any existing group/organization but rather effort of group of young volunteers based in different regions of Somalia and Diaspora communities to reach to the most vulnerable victims living in the unreachable locations.
A poor performance of Deyr 2018 coupled with harsh weather conditions in January – March 2019 has left many parts of Somalia facing mild to moderate drought conditions. This has led to serious water scarcity and earlier than normal water trucking across the country and in particular in Northern regions. Shabelle & Jubba river dried up and beds are seen in some areas.
#Caawiwalaal will provide free water-trucking services in remote villages, medical supplies to treat AWD/cholera, and food assistance to hunger hit families , we prioritise areas that NGOs can't mostly reach in Somalia. #Caawiwalaal will be able to reach these locations in less than 24hrs after we receive call for help.
#CaawiWalaal have a history and record for managing more than $25k and reaching in 12 regions ( Bay, Bakool,Banaadir, Gedo, Mudug, Galgaduud, Sool, Sanaag,Togdheer Hiraan, Lower shabelle, Nugaal,).
We argue Somali people (Local and Diaspora ), religious and community elders, business community and everyone to donate money so we can urgently mobilize resources and respond to existing humanitarian situations and prevent loss of lives.
