23.6% of all children in Mississippi face chronic hunger.

That’s about 159,370 kids.

More than 1 in 5 children in Mississippi go to bed hungry most nights.

Hunger hinders learning. Children who are food insecure are more likely to struggle in school, experience developmental delays, and have behavioral issues. But for some children, school meals are their most consistent and nutritious source of food.

We are kayaking the Mississippi River from source to sea to raise money for the fight against food insecurity. We plan to donate the proceeds to two* Mississippi organizations: Feeding the Future of Holmes County and Blessings for All Empowered by Faith of Montgomery County.
