My name is Natalia. I was born and lived until I was 20 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. This is my parents, my sister with her husband and my favorite and only niece (10) and two nephews (7,9) We were big, happy family. My parents worked hard their whole life although they are retired age. Kids were doing good in school and sports, youngest just started his first year of school! But at 4.50 am on February 24, 2022, their life was ripped from them… They were woken just like a whole country of Ukraine form bombs and shelling from the sky. Russian invasion. Full scale war. They had to flee to save kids leaving everything behind, just a few plastic bags fled with almost nothing. They had no idea where they’re going, they just had to escape from explosions and tanks. It took long 7 days for them to make it to Poland. But they arrived and now despite all the traumas must start their lives from zero! They still holding hope in their hearts to return to their homes in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Meanwhile they need to make sure kids have some chance for childhood, going to school, playing sports and have a joy. It doesn’t feel right for them to ask for help because all their life they worked hard so I’m asking for them as a daughter, sister, and aunt.
