Hi my name is Brenna Bastien and my sister, Lauren was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma 2 days before her 33rd birthday. Lauren has a family of her, her husband Brett, and her 2-year-old daughter, Cleo. A month after her diagnosis she was scheduled to undergo a double mastectomy to remove the tumor. She met with her oncologist for the final diagnosis and to determine what steps she would need to take next. She found out some of the cancer had spread to a lymph node. With that news, her doctors started scheduling her for her first chemo treatment starting on October 6th. She was referred to a fertility center to take some preventative measures and start the IVF process with hopes of growing her family once all of her treatments are done and she's healthy again.
