Rachel's Joy was started in 1989 and has continued to provide services for pregnant women and babies as an alternative to abortion. Services such as housing, clothing, mentoring, counseling and all needs for the new mothers as they raise their children. The Ministry was founded and continues to be directed by Susan Mirti-Fusco under the covering of Acts Community Development Corporation and the support of Coney Island Lighthouse Mission of Brooklyn, New York.Now Rachel's Joy, in collaboration with Harvesters in Sport, will be able to reach children in Zimbabwe who have no parents or family, providing them with caring support, food, clothing, housing and a Christian education. Our hope is to change lives through the Zimbabwe orphanage.

Rachel's Joy Maternity Ministries is seeking to work collaboratively with Harvesters in Sport and Mugove Chiviya to build and maintain an orphanage in Darwendale, Zimbabwe, Africa for orphaned children.Once the orphanage is built by Rachel's Joy, Harvesters in Sport will acquire financing to build a school on the same parcel of land.
