Help Our Beloved Brother Denver Dickerson

Brothers,

I am writing to each of you today to ask for your support in coming together to help a fellow brother in a real time of need, and not just any brother, the one true brother hero, Denver Dickerson.

I know I don’t need to summarize the contributions Denver has made to our Fraternity over the last 60+ years, but I think we can all agree that the house would not be standing today if not for him, and I know we can all agree that no matter how effective all of his efforts have been, they have come from the right place, a genuine admiration and love for 835 Evans Ave.

What most of you don’t know is that Denver has been quietly yet actively fighting cancer for well over a decade, which as a result has depleted nearly all of his financial resources. He is currently facing eviction from his apartment as his social security (only source of income) doesn’t even cover half of his monthly rent. As he enters his mid 80’s and on to his golden years, I would love nothing more than to present him with a gift from the Alumni of Nevada Alpha to properly thank him for all he has done and allow him to enjoy with a little more ease, the time he has left.

If you are able to, please consider contributing today to this endeavor. Time is definitely of the essence. My hope is to present something to Denver by the end of the month and then follow it up with an additional gift as funds come in. PLEASE DON’T ALERT DENVER TO THIS REQUEST. On a side note, Phi Alpha to everyone that has contributed toward the bathroom renovation campaign and a huge Phi Alpha to Brother Mike Angier who has agreed to match up to $50k in contributions! Last week, we began the demolition of the downstairs bathroom with the plan to have it completed prior to the start of the fall semester! Stay tuned!!
