Help Bring My Nephew Home for a Better Education

Dear Friends and Family,

I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my brother John Roman and my nephew AJ, who is almost 6 years old. He is currently living in Tennessee, and we desperately want to bring him back to California where he can receive the education and support he truly needs.

For the past two years, my brother and his wife have been battling a court case to secure a better future for him, and we are finally nearing the end of this journey. The last step involves hiring a professional evaluator, a doctor, who will travel to Tennessee to assess his current school situation and determine the best educational path for him—whether that’s staying in Tennessee or moving back to California.

The educational environment in Tennessee has not been conducive to his learning. He is struggling significantly, and my brother believes he may have dyslexia, which has not been adequately addressed there. Without the proper resources, he is not reading or writing at this crucial age, and we fear for his future.

This evaluator will also look into the school districts here in California to ensure he gets the best possible support and education. However, my brother cannot afford this evaluator’s fees on his own.
