Help a Trafficking Survivor Continue Her Mission of Healing
Meet my sister Shanna Parker; a courageous survivor of child sex trafficking who turned her pain into purpose. After escaping exploitation, she dedicated her life to mentoring child victims, offering them the empathy, strength, and hope that only someone who’s walked that path can truly provide. Through her mentorship, she has supported over 250 child victims and helped in securing over 1,200 years in prison of traffickers.
For the last 8 years, she has worked tirelessly as a Survivor Mentor through a behavioral health agency in Arizona, guiding young survivors through their healing journeys. Her work has been life-changing, not just for the children she’s mentored, but for the systems learning to better support them through her advocacy and lived experience.
Unfortunately, she has been laid off from her position due to financial reasons according to the agency. Despite this setback, she will continue to provide mentorship to the children in Arizona who are on her caseload because healing doesn’t stop when the paycheck does.
This is the worst time of the year for this to happen. She needs our help.
This fundraiser will help her:
Cover basic living expenses while she continues to mentor child survivors. She has basic bills, no credit card or crazy debt. This is to help sustain her ability to show up for the youth who rely on her; transportation, outings for child survivors, holiday gifts for youth with no family, etc. Shanna doesn't think the kids should miss out on services due to this bump in the road. They've already lost so much.
Shanna is exploring new opportunities to continue her work: Shanna’s nonprofit, the YES Center (Youth Empowerment and Stabilization), has been a dream that must now rapidly become a reality, where she'll be able to serve children and create an income again.
Every dollar helps her stay afloat while continuing the work that no one else can do quite like she can.
Your support is more than financial. It’s a message to her and the children she serves that their healing matters.
Please consider donating, sharing, and standing with a survivor who refuses to give up on others.
