Springfield Tenants Unite Mutual Aid Fund

We must love and protect one another, always but especially now. While our federal, state, and local governments fail to provide the resources needed to take care of our communities, STUN is moving to provide for the people in our base who need help right now. We are not direct service providers. We are organizers. But we can’t organize without meeting basic needs. 

Part of what makes STUN strong is we are made up of deeply impacted, tenant leaders: those closest to the problem and therefore closest to the solution. We are single moms, the elderly, working-class, of color, queer, unhoused, and people of various physical and mental abilities, which makes us strong! But it also means we are more vulnerable. COVID-19, dangerous inclement weather, and the everyday violence of evictions hits us hardest. Thus, we need to have each other's backs every day.

In a crisis, we can respond to the needs of our community with collective power and mutual aid. Your donation will go toward food and supply orders for STUN leaders so we can stay healthy during COVID-19, keep us housed, and reimburse us for transportation and other costs of our work. We will adjust the goal as necessary according to the need and duration of this effort.
