Appeal for Support – Battle Site Community, St Mary, Jamaica

My name is William Hutchinson, and I am a member of the Battle Residents Association in St Mary, Jamaica.

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, our community was fortunate to escape the worst of the damage. However, many families in the surrounding area were not so lucky. Several homes lost their roofs, and one resident that is known to us, Rockey, lost his entire house.

Coming together as a community, the residents of Battle raised over JMD $500,000 through local fundraising efforts. These funds were used to carry out urgent repairs on 10 homes, helping families return to safer living conditions.

We are now reaching out to friends and family in the UK and overseas to help us take the next step. Our goal is to raise funds to assist Rockey in rebuilding his home and assisting others where we can.

Any contribution, no matter the size will make a meaningful difference because as we Jamaicans say "Every mickle makes a muckle." Your support will help turn compassion into direct action.

Thank you for standing with the Battle Site community.
