Due to our Leicester City Council Funding ceasing It is with great sadness that we find ourselves in a similar position to last year and that we need to make staff redundant and close the playground.

Our final day of employment will be Friday, 25th April 2025, as the Leicester City Council grant funding concludes in March 2025.

You may already be aware that Leicester City Council will issue a parachute payment equivalent to 50% of our total yearly grant. This payment will be allocated towards redundancy costs, as we do not have sufficient reserves to cover these expenses. By doing so, our trustees will be safeguarded, and staff will receive the entitlements due to them.

I cannot emphasise enough the immense amount of work and countless hours we have devoted to keeping New Parks Adventure Playground, fondly known as "The Venny," operational. However, the timeframe has proven to be exceptionally challenging.

We will be launching Little Adventurers Pre-School in February, which will help to generate some income, though not enough to sustain the current opening hours.

This is not a situation we ever wished to face, but unfortunately, we have no alternative at this time.

We remain committed to exploring every possible avenue to keep The Venny open for as long as we can.
