It Takes a Village

My 20 year old sister has found the courage and strength to ask for help. On Monday December 14, 2020 she called the cops & called an uber with nowhere to go, 3 dollars in her bank account but she knew her apartment could no longer be home. The father of her 2 year old son has been controlling, sexually, physically and mentally abusing her for the majority of their relationship. She is currently staying somewhere safe but it is very temporary and now we are asking our community and really anyone who can give, anything. During this challenging time globally, her life has been even more chaotic and finally now, she can live. My sister is an artist, she creates pottery, statues, she paints & she does makeup. She is a young mom who loves her son more than anything in the world and yearns to protect him and give him a life of adventure and fun. This money will be used to help her find affordable housing in a place that she can safely rebuild and create a new life for her and her child as well as jump start her into an independence and confidence to share her story through art. This fundraiser is to help a young woman who has found light in a place of darkness, hope in a place of terror and resilience in the unknown. As a community we have the power to come together and help this family, my family and re instill trust and faith in the power of unity. Thank you for sharing this, thank you.
