Hello everyone,
On Friday, I will be embarking on a mission to run a half marathon (21.1 km) every day for 28 days to support The Ghassan Abu-Sittah Children’s Fund, which provides life-saving medical care and resources to children in Gaza and Lebanon. My plan is to run/jog the distance each day, however if injuries or other factors mean it not possible to do this, I will either be walking, or running the distance spread across multiple runs in the day.
At Bonham & Brook, I’m grateful to work in an environment that values inclusivity. Here, I’ve encountered first hand accounts of the struggles families face in and around Gaza, and these stories have deeply impacted me. Hearing about the hardships these families endure has motivated me to undertake this challenge, knowing that any donations will be used to help those who need it most.
As you will be aware, these children are growing up in regions deeply affected by conflict, facing unimaginable challenges. With medical facilities overwhelmed and essential supplies are limited, The Ghassan Abu-Sittah Children’s Fund is dedicated to supporting hospitals and medical teams who work tirelessly under immense pressure, ensuring that these children receive the care and compassion they deserve.
Whether it’s by sharing, donating or running alongside me to give me some support - every bit helps. If anyone would like to schedule a run with me at some point between Friday and the 13th of December with friends, family, mosques, churches or communities to raise awareness, and hopefully smash the revenue target then please do let me know as I will be willing to travel!
