Dear friends, neighbors and even strangers,

I'm reaching out with a heavy heart. Hurricane Helene’s unprecedented storm surge has devastated my family. My parents' home of nearly three decades, my brother's house, and their vehicles have all been destroyed. My father's lifelong fish hatchery business, operated from their property, was also wiped out.

In all their years living there, my family has never experienced a storm of this magnitude. The destruction is total and heartbreaking. Like many others affected by Helene, they now face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
